Opening Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Valley Pre-School will begin accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year on March 22, 2021.

This year, in an effort to streamline the application and enrollment process, we are pleased to offer online registration. When the application period opens, a link will be sent to everyone on our email list. A registration link will also be available on our website and Facebook page.

Limited space available.  There will only be one class for 3 year olds and one class for 4 year olds this year.

Admission Policy: Valley Pre-School (VPS) is a non-profit and nondiscriminatory organization. Admission of students is determined by priority status and availability of space, on a first-come, first-served basis and without regard to sex, race, color, or national or ethnic origin. In accordance with our by-laws, the order of priority is as follows:

  1. Present Students: This year will be defined as students who enrolled and would have attended VPS for the 2020-2021 school year had VPS been open.
  2. Alumni Applicants: Applicants who have siblings/parents who attended VPS in prior years.
  3. New Applicants: Children of families where no member of the family has attended VPS.

Applications within each priority group will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Present Students and Alumni Applicants who register after March 29 will lose their priority status and will be regarded as New Applicants.

Changes at Valley Pre-School:

During our closure period, the Board and faculty have been working to determine how the school can best serve the community moving forward. You will see a number of changes this year, including:

  • A Managing Director has been hired to ensure continuity from year to year and to oversee school operations, alleviating some parent time-commitment.
  • Increased hours for the 3 year old program (8:45 - 12:00) and the 4 year old program (8:45 - 1:00).
  • Kathy Jackson and Kim Tawney, two highly-qualified lead teachers with a combined experience of 34 years will be co-teaching both classes.
  • Strict adherence to state approved Covid safety protocols while maintaining the nurturing, play-based program for which Valley is known.
  • Opportunities for meaningful parent involvement, including parent helping in the classrooms, in accordance with Covid safety protocols.
  • A reimagined cooperative structure which will provide for a thriving community of families, continuing the signature element of Valley’s 72-year history.

As always, we appreciate your support of this program. If you have any questions or would like to join in our reopening process, please email valleypreschoolkids@gmail.com

We look forward to working with new and alumni families in the coming year as Valley opens its doors again!

Sincerely,

VPS Board
