...As our children studied the Native Americans of years ago, there was a realization of how different it was for those children, and yet our children thoroughly reveled in grinding corn, weaving, sewing pouches to collect items from nature walks, playing games with seeds and sticks, making pinch pots from clay, writing stories with symbols, talking to each other with sign language, painting with berries, beets, and bricks, creating designs with symmetry, and "carving" 6 foot tall totem poles. And, ohhh, were they happy!
